What is a Substance Information Exchange Forum and what will be its Purposes?
All potential registrants, downstream users and third parties who have submitted a Preliminary Substance Information Exchange Forum (PRE-SIEF) to the Ministry regarding the substance or registrants who have submitted a registration application regarding the substance before the specified date of 31/12/2030 become participants of the Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF).
The purpose of each SIEF is explained in the KKDIK Regulation as follows:
a) For registration purposes, the information specified in subparagraphs (6) and (7) of paragraph (a) of the first paragraph of Article 11 is shared among potential registrants to prevent duplication of studies and,
b) In cases where there are differences in classification and labelling among potential registrants, reaching agreement on classification and labelling.
SIEF participants provide existing studies to other registrants, respond to requests for information from other registrants, jointly identify the needs for subsequent studies and organize the conduct of such studies to be carried out for the purposes specified in paragraph (a) of the second paragraph. Each SIEF continues its activities until 31/12/2032.
