Is it Prohibited to use SVHC Substances?

Suppliers operating in European Union countries are obliged to provide this SVHC information at all stages of the supply chain if their products contain more than 0.1% (w/w) SVHC substances (high risk substances).

Suppliers preparing mixtures for consumers may face liability if their mixtures contain 0.1% (w/w) or more of SVHC substances. In this case, suppliers are obliged to provide "safety data sheets" to distributors and downstream users upon request.

SVHC substances may be included in REACH annex XIV or annex XVII, as a result of expert evaluation. Producers should also regularly check the list of authorized substances(Annex XIV) in the REACH regulation. This is because the number of substances subject to authorization for use increases every year and new materials are added to the list with new innovations.
