How to get UFI Code?

A format for the Unique Formula Identifier has been defined and a software application has been developed that allows the creation of UFIs by ECHA's website.

To generate a UFI code for your mixture, you need the VAT number of your EU Sale Point (or "company key" in certain cases), if available, and a formulation number specific to the mixture. The VAT number will ensure that your UFI code is unique so that there are no conflicts between UFIs produced by different companies.

For the formulation number, your company must use formulation codes between 0 between 268 435 255. However, if the formulation number is alphanumeric or contains other characters, you will need to assign new formulation numbers in accordance with the desired format.

Entering these two numbers (VAT number and Mixture specific formulation number) into ECHA's UFI Generator online tool will give you your UFI code.
